Beautiful Winter Wedding Colors

When you think of winter colors for weddings, the color that should come to mind is white. There is absolutely no rule that dictates you must use deep or holiday-inspired shades to decorate a winter celebration. In fact, it can be unexpectedly beautiful to choose lighter colors for a winter wedding. Here is a seasonally-appropriate fashion on how to include soft colors in a winter wedding.

Soft neutrals are a nice break fom the darker colors of winter we tend to see. Think about how refreshing a winter white wool sweater can look in a sea of brown and black. The same is true for a wedding. A classic, elegant look for a winter ceremony and reception would be an ivory and champagne color palette. The key to giving it a wintery feeling is to choose rich materials. An ivory silk velvet wedding gown with champagne colored Swarovski pearl earrings would be stunning for the bride. Champagne satin bridesmaid dresses with an elegant detail, such as a large twist bow at the waist would be a beautiful complement. Dress the reception tables in luxe ivory damask tablecloths with champagne organza napkins. A little mix of gold can really help an accent color, such as for chargers under the china place mats. Arrange ivory flowers such as roses and lilies in tall champagne colored fluted vases for a gorgeous centerpiece.

Another soft color to use for a winter wedding is blush. Sparkle and shine are the keys to making the light hue feel festive and wintery. A mix of mocha brown would be a pretty accent color for the blush. Blush colored roses in ornate silver vases would be gorgeous for the ceremony decorations and centerpieces. Add silver sparkly branches for a wintery look in the floral arrangements. Bridesmaid dresses in a blush colored satin with mocha sashes would be so sophisticated and feminine. An ivory gown with a pair of blush sequin ballet flats underneath for a fun accent would be perfect for the bride. The entire effect of this light color palette will be breathtaking.

A soft moss green is another pretty color for a winter wedding. Rich antique bronze accents will make the light color very appropriate for the colder months. Dress your bridesmaids in the moss color, and give them pearl earrings in a bronze hue for their bridesmaid gifts. Quilted silk shantung tablecloths in moss green topped with china with bronze rims will set the reception tables quite nicely. Creamy flowers spilling over footed urns in the antique bronze will be beautiful centerpieces. Small favor boxes wrapped in broze paper laced with a moss green bow will tie the look of the reception tables together.

A pale color which lends itself beautifully to a winter wedding is ice blue. If you want to bring to mind the icy sparkle of sunlight on snow try to pair it with touches of silver. Snowflakes or other seasonal motifs can definitely be incorporated into a pale blue. Imagine how beautiful a pale blue fondant with a silver white snowflake design wedding cake would be. It is very pretty and festive. Bridesmaid dresses will look fabulous in ice blue satin. Classic white pearl earrings with tiny crystal accents for sparkle will be lovely with the dresses. Fancy silver sandals will complete the bridesmaids' ensembles. For the wedding flowers, opt for a crisp white with small silver balls wired in amongst the blossoms. An ice blue satin bow on the bouquet will tie it all up to be perfect. Using soft colors will feel like a breath of fresh air on a dark, gloomy winter's day.
