You are making the gathered skirt and the strapless bodice.

According to the pattern, you need 1/4 yard of dress fabric for the bodice.

You will need the amount of contrast fabric called for in your size for the shirred midriff (1/2 yard or 5/8 yard, depending on size).

You will need the amount of dress fabric for the gathered skirt that is called for by your size and the width of the fabric, which is 1-3/8 yard unless your fabric is 45" wide and you are size 10, 12, 14, 16, or 18--in that case, get 1-7/8 yard.

Total: 1-5/8 to 2-1/4 yards of dress fabric, depending on your size and the width of the fabric, AND 1/2 to 5/8 yard of midriff fabric, depending on your size. Remember to get extra if you have to match a pattern or if you're using fabric with an UP and a DOWN.

For the lining, you will need 1/2 yard of lining fabric (to line both the bodice and the contrast midriff) and either 1-3/8 or 1-7/8, the same amount as you bought of the skirt fabric. Total: approximately 2-3/8 yards.

Notions: You need an 18" dress zipper for the back and a hook and eye for the opening above the zipper.
