Who is the rightful, legal owner?
I have stored a wool tuxedo jacket and comic books for over 12 years. Do they now belong to me or can the person ask for them back? No money for storage has changed hands. Nothing has ever been put in writing. Can I sell them? What is the Canadian law?

they are not yours
you must make a legitimate attempt to have the owner pick them up, if they do not come or you cannot locate them, you can legally dispose of them- they are abandoned
If you just take them, you are altering the verbal unspoken agreement you entered into when you accepted the items for storage with an open ended committment
