Homemade Christmas Bag With Homemade Crafts?
Last year my friend put our friends' Christmas present in paint cans that she decorated with paper and beads and ribbon. They were our favorite colors and we're adorable.
I want a creative idea to put the present in it. Like te paint can, but something else that is creative. Also, what could I put into the "creative gift holder"? Any ideas are great ! Thanks!
Answer:
One year I gave gifts in boxes made with plastic canvas and needle-pointed in Christmas patterns taken from leftover paper. They were lovely, and reusable, if one wanted to pass them on. If one didn't they were lovely decorations for the next Christmas. Or you could just make bags to 'wrap' your gifts in. Buy yourself a couple of yards of a nice quilted Christmas fabric, and make up bags to fit what you're giving. You can close them any way you can think of: drawstring ties, flaps like on envelopes, do-it-yourself bows, even. Just make four kind of triangular flaps for your 'box', which can also be stiffened with cardboard inserts or plastic canvas (just make an inner lining to match and stick the stiffener between), then gather them together with whatever works (cord, bias binding, ribbons, even elastic bands) gather them together and fluff like a flower. They turn out lovely.
One year, my sister made me a little rocket, like Flash Gordon's, out of a tube with cardboard fins. And one year, we made my daughter a 'popper' like the Brits use for the holidays--kind of like firecrackers--out of paper and ribbon over a large mailing tube. You can also decorate those vinyl coffee containers, or use inexpensive canisters. Heck, packaging is so varied these days, you can have lots of fun just figuring out how to use it.
Just use your imagination. You can come up with all sorts of things. All it takes is that and a little application. And it's fun!

Dance Charms - Gift Ideas For Young Dancers
Are you searching the internet for a treat for a young ballerina? The best present may be one you least expect - charms.
I once ran a ballet outlet and the biggest-selling item was a silver ballet shoe charm necklace. Parents and young dancers alike adored it!
That was some time ago, before the current explosion in charms such as Pandora and Troll. So, considering a pointe shoe charm was so popular then, I can only guess how popular it would be now!
Today, you'll find quite a variety of dance-related charms and charm bracelets. There are pointe shoes (one shoe or two!), ballet dancers in a variety of poses, and tutus for ballet dancers. For flamenco lovers, there are flamenco fans and occasionally, flamenco dancers. I've seen ballroom dancing couples, tap dancers, and shoes for tap, tango, Irish and Scottish dancing.
There is less selection in Pandora charms, in other, compatible ranges. Pandora charms have to be fat to allow for the hole through the middle, so it's challenging to design a delicate charm to reflect the nature of dancing. I have seen some ballet shoe charms but they are too bulky for my taste!
You will find quite a number of Pandora charms engraved with the word 'dance' - and their Murano glass beads have fabulous swirling colors which seem to be dancing all by themselves!
You often hear the phrase "lucky" charms. I always understood that meant charms shaped like a four leaf clover or a horseshoe. However I was told a lovely story of a woman who got a charm bracelet for Christmas. It didn't include a horseshoe, but she soon discovered that when she wore it, things went well -and when she didn't wear it, went wrong. She didn't tell anyone else, but it finally became so obvious, even her son commented! She explained it by saying that the bracelet was given by her children, and the charms were chosen with love, so it was transfused with a special quality. Maybe that's a good reason to give a charm bracelet!
If you're having difficulty choosing between the different charms - it may help to know that I found the pointe shoe pendant sold far more than similarly priced ballerina pendants.
